Iran has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz again. The Strait of Hormuz was closed on Saturday (June 20) in protest of the Israeli attack on southern Lebanon.

Iran's top military command Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said that shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has been closed due to violation of the ceasefire agreement. Iran's Mehr News Agency and Reuters reported this news.

According to Reuters, Iran has made this decision after accusing the United States and Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement.

Iran's military command said that this step is seen as a "first step". This is a response. If such "aggression" continues, more severe measures will be taken.

As a result of this decision, shipping through the important waterway Strait of Hormuz will once again be at great risk. As a result, world trade will be negatively affected.
