Gold prices have fallen in the world market.

After crossing the record milestone of 5,500 dollars, a big fall has been observed in the global market. The price of this precious metal has decreased due to the trend of profit-taking.

At 3:47 pm on Friday (January 30), the price of gold in the spot market fell by 7.5 percent to 4,992.05 dollars per ounce. US gold futures for February delivery also fell by 6.4 percent to 4,985 dollars. Earlier on Thursday (January 29), the price of gold reached a record high of 5,594.82 dollars.

UBS analyst Giovanni Staunovo told Reuters news agency, "After the massive rise in recent weeks, some stability in the market is normal. However, gold prices are still likely to rise.’

Another analyst Ross Norman said, ‘Gold prices could fall further from current levels. But they will recover later. The average price of gold in 2026 will be $5,375, which could reach a maximum of $6,400 in the fourth quarter.’

Among other precious metals, the price of silver in the spot market fell by 14.1 percent to $99.77 per ounce. Earlier, silver reached a record of $121.64 on Thursday. The price of the metal has increased by 42 percent this month.

In addition, the price of platinum fell by 15.7 percent to $2,216.55 per ounce. At the same time, the price of palladium fell by 13.4 percent to $1,737.50.

Meanwhile, the price of gold in the domestic market also fell on Friday morning. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of a 22-carat gold bhori by 14,638 taka to 2,71,363 taka.

According to the new price, the price of a 22-carat gold bhori (11.664 grams) in the domestic market will be 2,71,363 taka. In addition, the price of a 21-carat bhori has been fixed at 2,58,999 taka, a 18-carat bhori at 2,22,24 taka, and a traditional gold bhori at 1,82,833 taka.
