Independent Member of Parliament Rumin Farhana has commented that there will be no more mass uprising in Bangladesh in the next 100 years. She made this comment at a discussion meeting organized at the Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club on Saturday (July 11).

Rumin Farhana said, "The dream of a mass uprising that was in the 24th century, people bet their lives for the last time." Then when they saw that this was the property of a few people, this was a new rise of extremism in Bangladesh, a project to become the owner of hundreds of millions of taka from nothing, then naturally the masses would think a thousand, a hundred, a million times before going to such a mass uprising.

He said, how women wearing and without hijabs participated in the mass uprising of 24, why was that environment not preserved in the post-mass uprising? Who destroyed the murals and sculptures of the Liberation War right after the 24th uprising? Why were 1971 and 24th generations brought face to face, he also raised the question.

Commenting that there was a 'terrible rise of extremism' in the country after the mass uprising, Rumin Farhana said, how many people would have taken to the streets to protest if they had known about it earlier?

He said that even after the partition of 1947, the liberation war of 1971 and the mass movement of 1990, the people of the country have been deceived. The common people of the country have shed blood repeatedly and have been deceived.

The discussion titled 'Politics after the mass uprising: Crisis, Prospects and the Way Out' was organized by the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD).
