Jamaat delegation to Iran to attend Khamenei’s funeral

A high-level parliamentary delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is going to Iran to attend the farewell, funeral and state ceremonies of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The delegation will go there on July 3 at the invitation of the Iranian government. They will visit Iran until July 9. This information was given in a statement by Jamaat on Tuesday (June 30).

It was further informed that the delegation led by Jamaat's Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman and other members of the delegation are Md. Nurul Amin, Dr. Md. Keramat Ali and Dr. SM Khaliduzzaman.

The Jamaat delegation will attend the funeral and state ceremonies of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to express deep grief, condolences and solidarity with the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the visit to Iran, the delegation will pay courtesy calls on the country's top leadership and relevant government authorities as per the government program.

It is hoped that this visit will further strengthen the long-standing brotherly relations, mutual understanding, and bilateral cooperation between the people of Bangladesh and Iran.
