Jamaat Ameer expresses deep sorrow over earthquake casualties

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the casualties in the capital Dhaka and various parts of the country in the terrible earthquake. He expressed his condolences in a statement signed by Mujibul Alam, Senior Publicity Assistant of the party's Central Publicity Department, on Friday (November 21).
In the statement, the Jamaat Ameer said that a strong earthquake was felt in various parts of the country including the capital Dhaka. At least 6 people, including two children, have been killed in Dhaka and Narsingdi. In addition, students of Dhaka University, factory workers in Gazipur and around 300 people have been injured in various parts of the country, including Narsingdi, the epicenter of the earthquake. I express my deep sorrow and grief over this tragic loss of life.
He also said, I pray for the forgiveness of the souls of the deceased and express my deepest condolences to the families of the injured and the deceased. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala grant patience to the families of the injured and the deceased.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, I urge the concerned authorities to ensure proper treatment of the injured and provide compensation to the dead and injured. I also wish the injured a speedy recovery.
He also said, it will be strictly monitored whether multi-storey buildings are being constructed in compliance with the building code. It is also the responsibility of the government to make the people more aware to reduce the damage caused by earthquakes. I hope that the people will be able to overcome this disastrous situation with patience and courage, God willing.
