The 13th National Parliament session will be held on the 12th of next month. The opposition chip whip has already been decided. The Jamaat-e-Islami alliance has nominated NCP convener Nahid Islam for this post. Discussions on the nomination of the government chip whip are now at their peak.

After an absolute victory in the 13th national election, BNP formed the government under the leadership of party chairman Tarique Rahman on February 17. 25 ministers and 24 state ministers have been appointed in the cabinet formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. In addition, 10 people associated with BNP have been appointed as advisors. Several senior BNP leaders did not get a place in the cabinet. They are in discussion for the posts of speaker, deputy speaker and chip whip.

Two names are being discussed the most for the post of government chip whip. Both of them are senior BNP leaders, and their homes are in Noakhali. One is Zainul Abdin Faruk, a member of parliament from Noakhali-2 constituency. The other is Barkat Ullah Bulu, a member of parliament from Noakhali-3 constituency. This information has been learned from reliable sources in BNP.

Zainul Abdin Faruk is a 6-time member of parliament. He was the chief whip of the opposition party in the 9th National Parliament. He showed success then. As a result, his name is in the discussion as the possible chief whip of the ruling party this time. Faruk is an advisor to the BNP chairman.

On the other hand, Barkat Ullah Bulu is a 5-time member of parliament. He was a trade advisor during the BNP government in 2001. Bulu was also in the discussion of becoming a minister this time. However, since there was no place in the cabinet, his name is now also in the discussion for the post of chief whip. Bulu is the vice chairman of BNP. Earlier, he was the organizing secretary, general secretary and president of Jubo Dal. Later, he served as the joint secretary general of BNP.
