Schoolboy rescued within an hour of kidnapping

The father of a Secretariat employee entered the Prime Minister's office crying after hearing the news of his son's kidnapping. He went to the Prime Minister face to face. Upon hearing the news, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman ordered the concerned police officers to rescue the boy over the phone. Within an hour, the police rescued the boy from an under-construction building in Khilgaon in the capital.

DC Masud Alam of Ramna Police Division was involved in the rescue operation. He said that the kidnapped boy is a ninth-grader at the National Laboratory Ideal School in Khilgaon. After leaving school at 2:30 pm, 4-5 people caught him and took him to a seven-story under-construction building in Jorpukur area. There he was beaten up. After that, the kidnappers took his father's phone number and demanded a ransom of 50,000 taka. If the money was not given, they threatened to kill the child.

The boy's father works in the Secretariat. He entered the Prime Minister's Secretariat office crying. Later, the Prime Minister called and instructed to rescue the boy quickly.

Then, the police started communicating with the number from which the kidnappers had called, assuring them of 'sending money'. Ramna DC said, 'They were asked for the number to which the money would be sent. They were initially delaying giving the number. There was some bargaining. At one stage, the police identified their location and went to the relevant building and rescued the boy. However, sensing the presence of the police, the kidnappers fled.'

The Prime Minister's Press Wing reported, 'The Prime Minister called and instructed the police to take immediate action after hearing the news of the child's abduction.'
