US Central Command (CENTCOM) has categorically rejected Iran's claim that the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was damaged by a ballistic missile.

Calling the claim a blatant 'lie', CENTCOM said the missiles did not even come close to the ship. The USS Abraham Lincoln is currently fully operational and is providing uninterrupted support to the ongoing military operations of the US and Israeli forces around Iran by sending fighter jets.

Earlier, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that it had successfully targeted the US warship with four ballistic missiles. It warned that its attacks against US forces had now entered a 'new phase' and that the region would become a graveyard for the aggressor forces.

Tehran has launched a series of counterattacks on US and Gulf targets in the Middle East using drones and missiles, following the deaths of top Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a US and Israeli special operation that began on Saturday (February 28).
