A student from Maharashtra's Nagpur district has created a stir after his re-NEET (UG) medical admission test admit card was allocated to a centre in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The incident is said to have happened due to a technical glitch in the country's National Testing Agency (NTA).
NDTV reported on Saturday (June 20) that after downloading the re-NEET admit card, student Abdullah Mohammad Talib found that his test centre was allocated to a school in Abu Dhabi instead of India. Although he had applied from Nagpur. He was also supposed to get a test centre within the country.
The matter became more complicated when it was revealed that Abdullah did not have a passport. As a result, it was impossible for him to go abroad and appear for the exam. An image of the admit card that went viral on social media mentioned an Indian school in Abu Dhabi as the test centre. Later, when the matter was brought to the notice of the NTA, the agency termed it as a technical glitch.
The student's family claims that while applying, Abdullah had preferred Nagpur, Wardha and Bhandara as the examination centres. But his admit card showed his examination centre in Abu Dhabi. The student's father, Dr. Mohammad Talib, told NDTV, "We were shocked to see the admit card. My son started crying. He doesn't even have a passport."
After the matter came to light, the NTA said that after verifying the complaint, the student would be allotted a test centre in Nagpur within a few hours and a revised admit card would be issued. It is to be noted that the re-NEET (UG) 2026 examination in India will be held on June 21. The written exam will run from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.
