A Uber carrying fans of the Argentina soccer team was shot in Kansas City, Missouri, in the United States. In addition, similar attacks occurred in several other places in the area. One person was killed and at least four were injured. This information was reported from the US news agency AP on Thursday (June 18).

Police said that between 6 pm and 6:30 pm on Tuesday, at least five separate shootings occurred in an area of about 5 miles of the city. Three of them occurred on Interstate 70 and 670 highways, which run through the city center. Each shooting incident occurred at least 4 miles from Arrowhead Stadium, where Argentina won their first match against Algeria.

Two Argentine fans who were in an Uber at the time of the incident said that a car pulled up next to them and fired two shots at their car, which shot the driver in the leg. At first, they thought it was a flat tire, but later realized it was a gunshot.

Police said the injured included three adults, a minor and a teenager. All were taken to the hospital. One adult was in critical condition, while the others were in stable condition. Later, after receiving reports of another car accident in the Truman Road area, police took a driver to the hospital, where he was found with gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead by doctors.

Police believe the attacks were carried out by the same suspect in a series of incidents and are related. All victims reported that they were driving on the highway or road when one or more shots were fired at their vehicles.

A 22-year-old male suspect was located at a home after the incident, but he later fled, police said. An arrest warrant has been issued for him and a manhunt is underway to apprehend him. Authorities have also issued a warning in the area, describing the man as armed and dangerous.
