Trump warns of ’most devastating’ attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field

US President Donald Trump has threatened to 'blow up' Iran's entire South Pars gas field if Iran retaliates against Qatar's liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.
He made the dire warning in a post on the social media platform 'Truth Social'. Trump made it clear that neither the US nor Qatar knew anything about Israel's previous attack on the South Pars field.
However, he assured that if Iran does not attack 'completely innocent' Qatar again, Israel will not attack the gas field again.
The US president warned in strong language that if Qatar is attacked again, the US will attack Iran's South Pars gas field with such great power and capability, without the help or consent of Israel, that Iran has never seen before.
Trump said he did not want to allow such a large-scale violence or destruction, considering the long-term impact on Iran's future. However, he would not hesitate to take such drastic measures if Qatar's energy security was affected.
The tension began early Thursday morning, when Qatar Energy, the world's largest LNG producer, said that several of its facilities had been hit by missiles. This caused major fires and extensive damage. Qatar's Defense Ministry blamed Iran for the attack, saying that Iranian missiles had hit the Ras Laffan Industrial City.
Iran had threatened to retaliate against energy infrastructure in the Persian Gulf region after the Israeli attack on Iran's largest South Pars gas field on Wednesday (March 18). It is worth noting that the South Pars field, jointly owned by Iran and Qatar, is the world's largest gas field and is Iran's main source of domestic energy.
