Japan beats South Korea to reach final

Japan advanced to the final of the AFC Women's Asian Cup after winning a one-sided semi-final.
The team defeated South Korea 4-1 in the second semi-final of the tournament at Sydney Stadium in Australia on Wednesday.

Australia had earlier defeated China 2-1 in the first semi-final. The Japan-Australia final will be the third in the last four editions on March 21. Japan won the finals of these two teams in 2014 and 2018.

Japan, ranked 6th in the FIFA rankings, took a two-goal lead against South Korea in the first 25 minutes today. Riko Ueki scored in the 15th minute and Mika Hamano in the 25th minute.

Japan got the third goal in the 75th minute courtesy of Saki Kumagai. South Korea, ranked 19th in the rankings, came back from 3-0 down to equalize in the 78th minute (Kang-Chae Rim). However, in the 81st minute, Japan's Remina Chiba made the scoreline 4-1.
