After Venezuela's great victory over Italy on the baseball field, US President Donald Trump has proposed making the country the '51st state' of the United States in a humorous message. He highly praised the Venezuelan team after defeating Italy 4-2 in the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic.

In a post on his own social media platform 'Truth Social', Trump expressed surprise and wrote that many good things have been happening in Venezuela recently and he is wondering about the 'magic' behind it. In the post, he directly asked, 'Does anyone want to be the 51st state?' He made such comments mainly to celebrate Venezuela's recent political and sports successes.

It is worth noting that after Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was captured by US forces on January 3, the country's political landscape changed dramatically. Events such as the revision of the oil law and the release of political prisoners are taking place after Delcy Rodriguez was sworn in as interim president.

Before Venezuela, Trump similarly proposed that Canada become the 51st state of the United States, which sparked widespread discussion at the time.
