In 2024, Major General Anthony Aguto was in charge of US military assistance in Ukraine. Once, while traveling by train, he accidentally left a war map marked 'secret'. This information has come to light in a report by the US Department of Defense Inspector General.

CBS News reported that Aguto supervised US military assistance in Ukraine. He left the tube with the map on the way back after his visit to Ukraine. This put the US general in great trouble.

It is known that the train from Kiev to Poland was operated under the management of the US State Department. It was mainly used for the transportation of US officials. Realizing the loss of the document, Aguto quickly informed the US Embassy in Ukraine. Later, the train security department recovered the tube and delivered it to the embassy.

However, Aguto claims that no secret information was leaked. However, the report said that sensitive documents were left unsecured and were at risk of falling into the wrong hands.

The same report also noted that in May 2024, while in Kiev, Aguto fell and hit his head after drinking heavily. As a result, he failed to attend important meetings, including a scheduled meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

The investigation said that he suffered concussions after falling several times after drinking, which interfered with his duties. In the wake of the incident, the inspector general recommended that the secretary of the Army take necessary action against Aguto based on “proven misconduct”.
