Switzerland produced a dramatic late surge to defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina 4–1 in a match that remained goalless until the 73rd minute, before turning into a 23-minute goal frenzy that saw five goals, including four for the Swiss side.

The match in Los Angeles started cautiously, with Switzerland dominating possession but struggling to create clear chances in the first half. Bosnia and Herzegovina also showed limited attacking intent, and both sides went into the break locked at 0–0.

The second half, however, transformed into a high-intensity contest. Switzerland came close through multiple attempts, including efforts from Breel Embolo and Ndoye, but Bosnia goalkeeper Vasilj produced several outstanding saves to keep his team in the game.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 74th minute when Switzerland took a 1–0 lead. A well-worked move involving substitutes and a dangerous cross from Vargas created confusion in the Bosnian defence. The loose ball fell to Manzambi, who struck a powerful first-time volley into the net.

Bosnia’s situation worsened in the 80th minute when Muharemović was shown a straight red card for denying Embolo a clear goal-scoring opportunity, reducing his side to 10 men.

Switzerland quickly capitalised on the advantage. Vargas scored twice in quick succession—first in the 84th minute with a composed finish into the bottom corner, and then again in the 90th minute after a sharp combination involving Xhaka, Embolo and Manzambi.

At 3–0 down, Bosnia managed a late consolation in the third minute of stoppage time through a superb volley from Mahmić, giving them a brief moment of relief.

However, Switzerland sealed the victory in the seventh minute of added time when they were awarded a penalty after a foul inside the box. Captain Granit Xhaka stepped up and converted confidently to make it 4–1.

The result highlighted Switzerland’s late attacking efficiency and Bosnia’s collapse after going down to 10 men, as all five goals arrived in a thrilling final stretch of the match.
