Popular South Korean actor Lee Sang-bo has died. He was found dead at his home in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. He was 44 years old at the time of his death.
Fans are mourning the passing of the talented actor, who passed away a few years after being acquitted in a controversial drug case.
A family member found the actor's body at 12:40 p.m. South Korean time on Thursday (March 26). Police said there were no injuries or unusual signs on his body. However, an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death. The actor's funeral will be held at the Jungang Funeral Home in Pyeongtaek at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday (March 29).
In a statement, his management agency, Korea Management Group, said that they were unable to disclose the cause of death at the request of the family. They have requested the media and the general public not to speculate or crowd unnecessarily in order to protect the privacy of the grieving family.
Meanwhile, the death of Lee Sang-bo has once again brought to the fore the controversial drug case of 2022. At that time, he was arrested on charges of drug use due to his indecent behavior in public. However, later forensic tests did not find any illegal drugs in his body.
It was later learned that to overcome the family grief, he was taking anti-depressants and tranquilizers on the advice of a doctor, which changed his behavior. Later, the police cleared him of all charges and closed the case.
