How Mamdani met his wife on a dating app

Zohran Mamdani, the youngest mayor in history, is currently the talk of the town. Naturally, everyone's attention is now on his wife, Rama Duazi. This woman of Syrian descent is an American artist and painter. The news was published by the New York Post.

Rama Duazi was born in Houston. However, as a child, she moved to the Middle East with her family. Later, she spent a large part of her childhood in a nearby city in Syria.

In a podcast, Rama said that as a child, she often hid her Syrian identity and felt comfortable identifying as an American. Later, she enrolled in the Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, where she realized that she was different from others. This realization inspired her to create her own art and identity. Since then, the various colors of Syrian culture and lifestyle have emerged in her artwork.

Rama returned to the United States in 2021 and started living in New York City. It was here that she met Zohraan Mamdani through the dating app Hinge. They fell in love and got married in the city clerk's office in April of this year.

Rama Duaji has also taken a strong political stance through her art. She has depicted Israel's environmental impact on Palestinian farmers and has spoken out against American imperialism.
