The entire country is mourning the death of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha and one of the organizers of the July Mass Uprising. He was buried on Saturday (December 20) afternoon at the tomb of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam at Dhaka University. The throng of people and the tearful atmosphere at the last farewell seemed to indicate that Hadi was not just a leader, he had become a symbol of people's hope and faith.
After Hadi's burial, popular small screen actor Irfan Sajjad made an emotional post on social media. He wrote on Facebook, "You have won Hadi." He said, even if you get 500 votes in the parliamentary elections, that is Alhamdulillah. And today, millions of people are in front of the Parliament building with you.
In Irfan Sajjad's words, politics does not mean power, politics means gaining people's love. He asked, "How many politicians who have been in politics for years can say with their hands on their chests that so many people will come to his funeral or remember him if he dies?"
Remembering Hadi's sacrifice and ideals with deep respect, the actor also said that politics should be for the realization of human rights and the welfare of the country. At the end of the post, he wrote, "I say again, Hadi, you have won. You have shown the country. May Allah grant you Jannatul Firdous."
It is worth noting that Osman Hadi had established the political and cultural movement Inqilab Manch and established the Inqilab Cultural Center with the aim of building a just state. He also announced that he would contest the elections as an independent candidate from Dhaka-8 constituency. Before his death, he spent his busy time with the common people. And today, his passing is worrying the entire country.
