The US Department of Justice has also released a photo of her holding Epstein's shoulder.
The US Department of Justice released thousands of pages of documents from the investigation into the late, notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Friday. The documents show former US President Bill Clinton, members of the British royal family, prominent businessmen and celebrities. However, the discussion has increased around the photo of Epstein with Clinton.
Former US President Clinton's spokesman made strong allegations against the White House on Friday (December 19) night. He claims that the White House is deliberately making her a 'scapegoat' by releasing some old photos of Clinton with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The photos include photos of Clinton with Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as a photo of her with a young woman in a swimming pool. The woman's face has been blurred in the photo.
Clinton's spokesman said in a statement to X, "The White House hid these documents for months and suddenly released them late Friday night. This was not primarily to protect Bill Clinton, but to protect themselves."
He said in the statement that White House Chief of Staff Suzy Wiles herself admitted that Bill Clinton did not go to Epstein's Caribbean island. Although former President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed so.
However, Clinton has long said that she severed all ties with Epstein around 2005. Shortly after, Epstein pleaded guilty to charges of soliciting minors for sexual purposes in Florida.
Clinton's spokesman Angel Urena said, "There are two types of people here. One group knew nothing and severed ties with Epstein before the crimes were revealed. The other group maintained the relationship even after the crimes. We belong to the first group. No matter how much people in the second group try to drag the issue, the truth will not change. MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters in particular want real answers, not scapegoats.
One of the photos released on Friday shows Clinton standing in an underground swimming pool with Maxwell. Another shows her attending a dinner with Epstein and a few acquaintances, including Mick Jagger. This sparked a debate. According to US media, Epstein visited the White House at least 17 times early in Clinton's presidency. In addition, Clinton traveled to Asia and Africa on Epstein's private plane after leaving office in 2001. However, no formal charges have been filed against Clinton for her involvement in the Epstein scandal.
