Shah Rukh copied Brad Pitt in ’King’, director opens up on the controversy

Shah Rukh Khan has started a huge discussion on social media after he released the first look of his much-awaited film 'King' on his 60th birthday. Especially, his blue shirt and tan jacket look has created a storm of comparisons. Many are saying that it is suspiciously similar to Brad Pitt's look in the movie 'F-1'. Some are saying it is an inspiration, while others are directly labeling it a 'copy'. Finally, director Siddharth Anand broke his silence on this controversy and responded.
According to the Times of India, amidst the heated discussion on the look on the internet, director Siddharth Anand has reacted a little differently. When Bollywood was criticized in a viral tweet, he responded with multiple smiley emojis and an 'OK' hand emoji in that post. His suggestive reaction shows that he does not give importance to this comparison at all.
There was also a collage in that viral post. Like Shah Rukh's 2017 look from Job Harry Met Sejal, Brad Pitt's 2025 look from 'F One', and the first look of the recently released King. These three pictures have been shown and it has been said that even though there are similarities, there is nothing to call it 'fake'.
At the birthday fan meet, Shah Rukh spoke about his character. The actor said, "I think if we don't do something different or interesting in the film, then the same thing will continue. The hero will come, sing two songs, do two fights, and then leave." But the character of King is very different. Sidharth and Sujoy have written the character with a lot of love. There are many bad sides to it. He is a murderer who kills people and never asks 'how many were there?'
Shah Rukh also said that cinema is not just about telling stories. Today's youth think consciously when watching films. It is very important for heroes like me that we work in different types of roles. Something inspiring, something aspirational, something comical, something romantic, everything needs to be done.
Incidentally, Shah Rukh will be seen with his daughter Suhana Khan in the Siddharth Anand-directed film King. Along with that, Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Joydeep Ahlawat, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and many others will be present. The film will be released in 2026.
