Dengue outbreak continues, 5 deaths in Dhaka North City in a day

Five more people have died in the last 24 hours due to Aedes mosquito-borne disease dengue. With this, the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease has increased to 331 this year. In addition, 792 new people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue in the last 24 hours. This information was given in the regular dengue report of the Directorate General of Health Services on Saturday (November 15).

The Directorate General of Health Services said that all 5 people who died of dengue in the last 24 hours were residents of Dhaka North City Corporation. On the other hand, the highest number of dengue patients (226) were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka North City in the last 24 hours.

In addition, in the last 24 hours, 136 people in Chittagong division, 125 in Barisal division, 121 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 107 in Dhaka division, 60 in Mymensingh division, 15 in Khulna division and 2 in Sylhet division were admitted to hospitals with dengue.

According to the report of the Directorate General of Health Services, a total of 331 people have died of dengue from January 1 to Saturday this year. Of these, the highest number of deaths (156) occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation. During this period, apart from 57 deaths in Dhaka North City Corporation, 44 people died of dengue in Barisal division, 25 in Chittagong division, 17 in Rajshahi division, 13 in Mymensingh division, 11 in Khulna division, 7 in Dhaka division and one in Sylhet division.
