‘Diplomatic opportunities between the US and Iran are temporarily suspended’

The diplomatic path to easing the ongoing tensions between the US and Iran has been temporarily suspended, said military and diplomatic analyst Alexandru Hudisteanu. He made this assessment in an interview with Al Jazeera.
Hudisteanu said that the diplomatic path is not completely closed, but rather it is temporarily suspended. According to him, at the end of the day, both the US and Iran will have to get out of this state of war, because this conflict is not beneficial for either side. As a result, both sides will ultimately seek a peaceful solution.
However, the analyst noted that from the beginning of this crisis, Washington and Tehran had different views on the goals and the nature of diplomatic negotiations. There was a lack of mutual understanding between the two sides on how negotiations should be aimed at ending the war.
According to Hudisteni, this disagreement has once again turned the situation into a minor military conflict, with the Strait of Hormuz in particular once again becoming a major focus of tension.
He added that it is not yet certain whether this situation will directly escalate into a major war. However, this belligerent attitude on both sides is increasing tensions manifold. As a result, the region is currently in the most vulnerable state in the past two months.
