The government of the country has issued a stern warning to those who are staying illegally in Saudi Arabia. If you stay in the country even after the expiration of your visa, you will have to face a large fine, imprisonment and deportation.
This information was reported in a report by Gulf News on Monday (July 13).
The report said that staying even after the expiration of your visa is a serious crime. A maximum fine of 50,000 Saudi riyals can be imposed for this crime. This amount is more than 1.6 million taka in Bangladeshi currency.
In addition to the fine, the offender can be imprisoned for up to six months. At the same time, he will be deported from Saudi Arabia and may be banned from entering Saudi Arabia later.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior said that this step has been taken to strictly implement the housing and labor laws. The aim is to prevent the misuse of entry visas and ensure that visitors do not stay longer than the authorized period.
The Ministry of Interior has issued a special appeal to citizens and residents of the country. They have been asked to report any suspicious cases of violations of housing, labor and border security laws to the authorities.
A hotline will be open 24 hours a day to report this information. Residents of Mecca, Medina, Riyadh and the Eastern Province can call 911 and provide information. For all other regions of the country, they have been asked to call 999.
The ministry also said that these strict measures have been implemented to strengthen security measures, protect the labor market and reduce violations of the law.
The report said that Saudi authorities are currently conducting special operations nationwide against violators of housing, labor and border security laws. The new directive was issued as part of this operation.
