The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called the allegations against a Pakistani cricketer baseless and misleading. The board expressed its anger over a report aired on a local television channel and said it would take necessary action in this regard.

In a statement, the PCB said that the allegations of misconduct against a pacer in a hotel during the Pakistan team's tour of Sri Lanka in the current edition of the T20 World Cup were baseless.

A media report claimed that the hotel authorities, dissatisfied with the cricketer's behavior, lodged a formal complaint with the team management. The report also said that the Pakistan team management took the initiative to look into the situation immediately after coming to know about the matter.

However, according to the PCB, the matter was reviewed based on the information provided by the hotel authorities and an internal investigation. The investigation showed that the cricketer concerned had violated the team's code of conduct. For this, he has been fined financially.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has claimed that some media outlets have exaggerated and spread misleading information without verifying the incident. The PCB has termed the reports as "irresponsible" and "malicious" and said it reserves the right to take necessary action against those involved in spreading false information.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup has also been disappointing. The 2009 champions have exited the 20-team tournament before the semi-finals.
