Messi leaves the field before the scheduled time
The frenzy to catch a glimpse of Lionel Messi created extreme chaos at the Yuva Bharati Sports Complex in Salt Lake, Kolkata. The police, administration and organizers failed to manage the crowd. As the situation got out of control, Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi was forced to leave the field long before the scheduled time.
Within moments of the start of the event, an unusual crowd gathered around Messi inside the field. As a result, many spectators sitting in the gallery could not see their favorite star properly. This anger led to the throwing of water bottles from the stands towards the field.
Within just 20 minutes, Messi was removed from the field for security reasons. He was quickly taken out of the stadium by a convoy. After that, the situation became even more heated.
Out of anger and frustration, the spectators started throwing water bottles and chairs one after another. Many spectators entered the field. Messi's posters and 'Got India Tour' banners were torn down. There were even attempts to break the goalposts, it is alleged.
The spectators complained that they did not get a chance to see Messi despite paying thousands of rupees for tickets. It became impossible to see Messi from the gallery due to the crowd in the middle of the field.
The incident created complete chaos at the Yuva Bharati Sports Complex. Within a short time, the gallery was empty and the field was filled with spectators. The situation went completely out of control.
Sources said that Messi was supposed to leave Kolkata at 2 pm, but due to security reasons, he left the city at 12:20 pm.
