Amirul’s fourth hat-trick, Bangladesh defeats South Korea by writing a comeback story

Amirul Islam is showing impeccable skills in the Youth World Cup Hockey. He scored his fourth hat-trick in the current tournament. Bangladesh has written a comeback story against strong South Korea by winning.

On Saturday (December 6), Amirul's hat-trick helped Bangladesh defeat strong South Korea by 5-3 goals in the U-21 World Cup placement match in Madurai, India. With this, Amirul, who scored his fourth hat-trick in five matches, is still at the top of the scorers with 15 goals.

With this victory, Siegfried Eikmann's team has reached the threshold of finishing the campaign in 17th place in the 24-team World Cup. If Bangladesh's youth team defeats Austria next Monday (December 8), it will be like a dream for them to finish their debut season.

South Korea has proven itself as one of the superpowers in world hockey. Their age-based team is also strong. Considering that, this victory is a big achievement in the history of Bangladesh hockey. Bangladesh has won its second victory in the tournament after playing in the Youth Hockey World Cup for the first time.

Although South Korea took the lead in today's match. They went ahead with two goals in a row in the 10th and 20th minutes. Both were scored by Lee Minhyuk. The first was a field goal, the next came from a penalty corner. Then Bangladesh came back into the fight with a hat-trick from Amirul.

Amirul scored three goals from penalty corners in the 21st, 24th and 35th minutes. Obaidul Joy increased Bangladesh's lead in the 52nd minute. Lee Minhyuk scored the next minute to complete his hat-trick. Bangladesh's victory was confirmed with a goal by Rakibul Hasan in the 60th minute.

The Bangladesh U-21 team lost the first match to a strong Australia by 5-3 goals. In that match, Bangladesh put up some resistance with Amirul Islam's hat-trick. Then, despite falling behind in the second match, they left the field with a 3-3 draw with South Korea.

Amirul also scored a hat-trick against Korea. In the next match, the Red and Greens were defeated 3-2 by current runners-up France. They then scored 13 goals against Oman, in which Amirul scored five goals, including a hat-trick.
