The countries of the Middle East will observe the moon of the month of Zilhaj 1447 AH on May 17. The United Arab Emirates Astronomical Center said that it will be possible to see the moon through telescopes from East Asia, South Africa and southern South America on that day.

In addition, the moon can also be seen with the naked eye from most parts of Central and West Asia, North Africa and America. It has also been reported that it may be relatively easy to see the moon with the naked eye in Mecca, Abu Dhabi, Amman, Jerusalem, Cairo and Rabat.

The Astronomical Center also said that since there is a possibility of seeing the moon in some parts of the Muslim world on Sunday, it is expected that the month of Zilhaj will begin on Monday (May 18). Accordingly, the holy Eid al-Adha can be celebrated in the Middle Eastern countries on May 27.

Usually, the holy Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated in Bangladesh one day after the Middle Eastern countries including Saudi Arabia. Accordingly, the holy Eid-ul-Azha can be celebrated in the country on May 28. However, the final date of Eid-ul-Azha in the country will be decided after the National Moon Sighting Committee reviews the moon sighting news.
