Kerala’s ’Lamine Yamal’, a teenager who went viral overnight due

A 15-year-old boy from Kerala, India, has become a hot topic on social media overnight because of his resemblance to Spanish football star Lamine Yamal. His name is Allen James.    

Allen, a resident of Chakkuvally in Kollam district of Kerala, is a class 10 student. Recently, a short video of him went viral on social media and sparked a huge discussion about him. Many people were initially confused after watching the video – is it Allen or Barcelona's young star Lamine Yamal!

Allen's hairstyle, facial features, and smile are quite similar to Yamal's. Many social media users are therefore comparing his appearance to Yamal.

A video released by Indian news agency ANI shows Allen dribbling a football wearing Barcelona's famous blue and red jersey. Curiosity around him grew after the video went viral.   

Allen's friends and schoolmates had already joked about his resemblance to Yamal. However, the issue took a huge turn after a video of him went viral on Instagram. Within a short time, the video was seen by millions of people. Many people jokingly started calling him 'Alibaba's Lamine' or 'Lakshmi Yamal'.

Interestingly, Allen himself is involved in football. He played as a defender for his school team. As a result, his resemblance to one of the most talked-about young stars in world football seems to make the matter even more interesting.

Within days of going viral, Allen's social media following grew from a few hundred to several thousand. He even started getting invitations to local events and store openings.

However, despite his similarities with Yamal, Allen's favorite footballer is not Yamal. He said with a smile that his favorite player is Argentine legend Lionel Messi.

Despite enjoying his sudden popularity, Allen wants to focus on his studies and football career for now. In addition to social media discussions, his dream is to become a good footballer.
