US completes strikes on Iranian military sites: CENTCOM

The US Central Command (Centcom) has announced that the latest round of US strikes on Iranian military installations has been completed.
The organization said in a statement on Wednesday (September 2) that the attacks were carried out on multiple military installations affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Anadolu Agency reported.
Centcom claimed that the attacks targeted Iranian air defense systems, radar installations, maritime military capabilities and related infrastructure, maritime mine-laying systems, and various communications centers.
According to the US military, the operation was carried out in response to recent Iranian actions, particularly the need to ensure the safety of commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and US troops stationed in the Middle East.
However, despite the announcement by CENTCOM, there is no sign of regional tensions easing. According to various sources, in response to the US attack, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks targeting US interests and military installations in Jordan, Iraq and Bahrain. Jordan and Bahrain said they successfully intercepted some of the missiles and drones.
Meanwhile, there have been allegations of civilian casualties in a US attack on a wedding party in the southern Iranian region of Sirik. Iranian authorities claim that at least five people were killed and dozens more were injured in the attack. However, the US has not yet commented in detail on the matter.
After weeks of relative calm, direct military conflict between the United States and Iran has once again intensified. As the two sides continue to trade blows, there are fears that the conflict will spread further across the Middle East.
