Mithila has chosen the traditional women's dress of Bangladesh - the sari - as her national costume, and for that sari, she has selected the white Jamdani, a symbol of honor and tradition.

The 74th edition of Miss Universe 2025 is being held in Thailand with great fanfare. Tanzia Zaman Mithila is representing Bangladesh on the world stage. It will be known on November 21 who will be crowned. Before that, the contestants are participating in various sessions, one of which is the National Costume Round. And on Wednesday (November 19), contestants from different countries will showcase their countries in their own traditional costumes. In the meantime, Mithila has shared a picture of her national costume look on social media, which has created a discussion.

Mithila has chosen the traditional dress of Bangladeshi women—the sari—as her national costume, and for that sari, she has selected a white Jamdani, a symbol of honor and tradition. The Jamdani worn by Mithila depicts the motif of the national flower of Bangladesh, the Shapla, which symbolizes peace, purity, and the determination of Bengali women. Mithila is receiving praise within just an hour of posting the picture.

Mithila posted the picture on social media and wrote, "Miss Universe Bangladesh National Costume—"The Queen of Bengal." Mithila also wrote in her post that the magnificent Jamdani sari worn as the national costume of Bangladesh on the Miss Universe stage is a living symbol of the country's royal heritage. Once upon a time, this Jamdani was woven for Mughal emperors, Nawabs, and the aristocratic women of Bengal, each thread of which carries a story of history, art, dedication, and traditional beauty.

Mithila further said about her saree, this special Jamdani saree features the design of the national flower of Bangladesh, Shapla. Which symbolizes peace, purity and the indomitable power of this soil. The saree, which is completely hand-woven, took about 120 days to complete.

Along with the saree, Mithila's specially made jewelry blouse and jewelry also caught the eye. Shapla was visible on her jewelry and blouse. The golden jewelry highlighted the grace, firmness and royal tradition of Bengal. Mithila said that every thread of her costume, every ornament brought the story of Bangladesh's heritage - the royal past of Jamdani, the calm beauty of Shapla and the power of Bengali culture.
Mithila's presentation on the globally discussed Miss Universe stage proves that Bangladesh is not only beautiful, but its heritage, history and craftsmanship can also fascinate the world. Tanzia Zaman Mithila has proudly presented the heritage of Bangladesh on the world stage. Now we wait and see who will be crowned Miss Universe on November 21st.
