Bahrain has significantly reduced the minimum real estate investment required to obtain the popular Golden Residency Visa. The decision has been taken to make long-term residency more accessible to foreign investors, the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), under the Ministry of Interior, said.

This will further strengthen Bahrain's larger goal of becoming an attractive center for living, doing business and investing in the Gulf region. According to information published in various Bahraini media, the Gulf News report said that the minimum property investment required for the Golden Visa has been reduced from 200,000 Bahraini dinars to 130,000 dinars. That is, a reduction of about 35 percent.

Sheikh Hisham bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the NPRA, said the move reflects the government’s commitment to creating long-term opportunities for foreign investors and keeping the country investment-friendly.

He added, “Reducing the investment threshold will increase the competitiveness of the program, while maintaining its quality and exclusivity.”
According to the new rules, the following individuals or groups are eligible for the Golden Visa: property investors who will purchase property worth 130,000 dinars; professionals with a monthly income of at least 2,000 dinars and five years of continuous employment experience in Bahrain; retirees who have worked in Bahrain for 15 years and whose pension is more than 2,000 dinars; retirees residing abroad with a pension of more than 4,000 dinars; entrepreneurs; highly skilled professionals; and those who make significant contributions to the Bahraini economy or society.

Golden Residency Visa holders will get - Lifetime residence permit, complete freedom in the workplace, unlimited travel, family sponsorship facility, 100 percent business ownership, applicants will have to submit a valid passport, six months bank statements, health insurance and proof of residence on the NPR online portal.

New momentum in real estate market Experts believe that the new investment limit will not only increase the number of investors in Bahrain but also strengthen the country's real estate market. At the same time, Bahrain's position as a long-term residence and investment destination in the Gulf region will be strengthened.
