22-year-old Hassan Ahmed Al Ghajar risked his life to save 13 people from death. But in the end, he himself lost his life. The immortal heroism of this young man from the village of Meniel Doeib in the Sinai region of Egypt has touched the hearts of people across the country.
According to a report by Gulf News, citing local media, a minibus carrying university students skidded off the road and fell into the river after its tire exploded. Hassan ran as soon as he saw the incident from the front. Although he did not know how to swim, he jumped into the water without hesitation. He broke the back door of the sinking minibus and brought all 13 students to safety one by one. But after excessive physical exertion and mental stress, he could no longer stay afloat. Exhausted by exhaustion, he drowned himself in the river and died. Although the incident was painful, the Egyptians remember Hassan with respect for his noble ending.
Hassan had gone to the Sinai region in search of a livelihood. He has a wife and three daughters at home - whose future is surrounded by uncertainty today. The grief-stricken father told the media, "My son died a hero. I am proud of him." He said that Hassan's birthday was just two days away. He was on his way to buy a cake for his son and visit him when he received the news of his death.
In his last phone call to the family before the accident, Hassan expressed his desire to see his mother - which has now added to the burden of grief. Hassan's family has requested the government to ensure financial support for his wife and children and to honor Hassan on a state level. In the words of the family, "Hassan has stopped the tears of many families. At least his daughters' future should be protected.'
Thousands of people on social media have demanded that Hassan be declared a national hero, martyr and awarded a state medal. They write that his sacrifice not only saved 13 lives but also saved countless families from tears. Hassan Ahmed Al Ghajjar's name remains a shining example of courage, sacrifice and humanity.
