According to an Indian media report, Sulakshana breathed her last on Thursday night at Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital. Her brother, music composer Lalit Pandit, said that the singer had been quite ill for the past few days. In this condition, she suffered a heart attack around 8 pm on Thursday. She later died. The last rites of the body are scheduled to be performed on Friday (November 7) afternoon.

It is learned that Sulakshana made her debut in Bollywood as a child artist. In 1967, the song 'Saat Samudra Par Se' from the movie 'Taqdeer' became very popular. Apart from Hindi, she has sung in various languages ​​including Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, and Oriya. In 1980, the album 'Jazzbaat' became very popular.

Sulakshana was also very popular as a ghazal artist. In 1986, she represented India at the 'Festival of Indian Music' concert held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. In her long career, Sulakshana has worked with famous artists including Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar, Mohammad Rafi, Shailendra Singh, Yesudas, and Udit Narayan.
