The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold twice before Eid. The latest reduction in the price of a 22-carat gold bhori in the country's market has been set at Tk 2,44,927, with a reduction of Tk 7,698.
BAJUS announced this information in a notification on Thursday (March 19) afternoon. The new price came into effect from 3:45 pm yesterday. Gold will be sold at the same price today and Sunday as well.
The notification said that the price of pure gold in the local market has decreased. As a result, the new price of gold has been fixed considering the overall situation.
According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) in the country's market will be Tk 2,54,625. In addition, the price of gold has been fixed at 246,927 taka per 21 carat, 222,20 taka per 18 carat and 164,521 taka per 18 carat.
Thus, the price of gold has been adjusted 45 times in the domestic market so far this year. Where the price has been increased 26 times; reduced 19 times. And in 2025, the price of gold was adjusted a total of 93 times in the domestic market; where the price was increased 64 times, and reduced 29 times.
