Spread the joy of Eid among everyone: Khandaker Maruf

BNP National Executive Committee member and Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Dr. Khandaker Maruf Hossain has urged party leaders and activists to spread the joy of Eid among everyone, inspired by the sacrifice of fasting during the holy Ramadan, the glorious teachings of restraint and self-purification, and the ideals of honesty.

He said, being a politician does not mean being a ruler. One should keep oneself engaged in service-oriented work for the welfare of the people. Especially, one should be by the side of the hardworking people of the society in their happiness and sorrow.

He said this while exchanging greetings on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr with prominent figures of the society and leaders and activists of Daudkandi Municipality, Daudkandi and Meghna Upazila BNP, who gathered at the premises of his 'Shanti Neer' residence in his village of Gayeshpur in Daudkandi throughout the day on Saturday (March 21).

Khandaker Maruf said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken many important decisions and steps in just one month of coming to power, including distributing 'Family Card' and launching 'Canal Digging Program'. Tarique Rahman will soon inaugurate the 'Farmer Card'. Through this card, a farmer will enjoy various benefits to produce more crops.

He said that the people have become optimistic after seeing such commendable initiatives and dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister. People sincerely believe that he has taken the helm of the state as the great hero of the nation that was oppressed by the misrule of the fascist government for 16 years. Tarique Rahman will be able to quickly build Bangladesh as a developed and prosperous nation.

Khandaker Maruf said that the government is working to build the desired dream country that the people want to see in Bangladesh. The current government seeks the full cooperation of people from all classes and professions of the country in fulfilling this goal.

Our Prime Minister has said with great determination that with the unwavering support and cooperation of the people, the current elected government will move forward with maximum strength in the work of building the country. We have to move forward unitedly, taking everyone with us regardless of party or opinion.
