US President Donald Trump has given Iran an ultimatum regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the world's energy corridor. He wrote in a post on his social media account Truth Social that if Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours without any threats, the United States will 'destroy' Iran's power plants.

In his words, 'If Iran does not completely open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours from now, without any threats, the United States will attack and destroy their various power plants - starting with the largest!'

Iran has claimed to have attacked two US military bases in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. These attacks were carried out using missiles and drones, according to Iran's state-run IRIB broadcaster.

In a statement published on Telegram, the IRIB said that the attacks targeted the Al-Minhad base in the United Arab Emirates and the Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait.

Iran claims that the bases' hangars and fuel tanks were severely damaged.

However, there was no immediate comment from Kuwait or the Emirates.
