A photocard titled ‘UN is taking steps to bring Awami League back to public politics by next May’ has recently been circulated on various platforms. The photocard has been circulated with the photo of Kishoreganj-4 MP Advocate Md. Fazlur Rahman’s statement.
As of the publication of this report, the most viral video circulated on TikTok has been viewed nearly 25 thousand times, with reactions from nearly 2 thousand different accounts and the video shared nearly a hundred times.
Fact Check
The investigation by the Rumor Scanner team revealed that Md. Fazlur Rahman did not make any such comment on the UN’s steps to bring the banned political party Bangladesh Awami League back to politics. In fact, the claim was circulated without any kind of evidence. No source of information was found to support the claim after observing the posts circulated on the claim.
Regarding the return of Awami League to politics, MP Md. If Fazlur Rahman had made any comment or if the UN had taken any action on this issue, it would have been discussed and criticized and the media would have also been seriously reported.
