Water Resources Minister and BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said, if anyone is involved in any corruption, not only the department, but also if he is a politician, action will be taken against him. We came here with the mandate of the people after a long period of struggle, after much sacrifice and hard work, many were martyred in the last July movement.

The MP from Lakshmipur-3 (Sadar) constituency and the convener of the district BNP also said, there should be no corruption in any way. Be it in the district council, Lakshmipur municipality, police administration, civil administration, roads office and LGED. But they (those responsible) will have to take responsibility for it. But we will not take any responsibility. Our government is fully aware of this. The Prime Minister is always very careful in this regard.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the prayer ceremony organized to mark the assumption of office of the new administrator of Lakshmipur District Council on Tuesday (March 24) afternoon.
The Water Resources Minister said that 15 crore taka of Lakshmipur District Council is stuck in the Union Bank. By a cruel twist of fate, the assets that are there are also frozen. It is a difficult matter whether they will be recovered in the end. This is not the case only in one bank today. 7-8 banks in Bangladesh are in a state of non-functioning today just because of looting and money laundering. We have to take responsibility at a difficult time. It is also difficult to get through this difficult time. For this, everyone has to be sincere.
Annie Chowdhury said that many mega projects have been done across the country. The beneficiaries of these mega projects are not the people of the village, nor are we ordinary people. Maybe this is a temporary situation, you and I need it specially. There have been such mega projects that would have been done even if we had not done them for the last 17 years. Again, some mega projects were urgent. They have been done, but the projects worth 10,000 crore taka have been done for 10,000 crore taka. Mega corruption has taken place in the mega project.

The event was presided over by District Council Administrator and District BNP Member Secretary Sahab Uddin Sabu, and special guests included Laxmipur-1 (Ramganj) constituency MP Shahadat Hossain Selim, District Jamaat Ameer SUM Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan, District BNP Joint Convener Hasibur Rahman, BFF Vice President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, Former Principal of Raipur Government College Professor Nani Gopal Ghosh, District President of Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council Shankar Majumder, District Council Chief Executive Officer Ashrafun Nahar and General Secretary of Laxmipur Press Club Saidul Islam Pabel.
