No specific information about the main accused in Hadi murder: Additional IGP

Additional IGP Khandaker Rafiqul Islam said that the police still do not have any specific information about Faisal, the killer of Inqilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. He made this statement at an emergency press conference at the Home Ministry on Sunday (December 21).

The Additional IGP said, we do not have specific information about Faisal's last location. Our forces and intelligence agencies are working to collect information. However, we have not received reliable information about his departure from the country. Sometimes confusion is spread about the whereabouts of the criminals.

DB chief Shafiqul Islam also agreed with him and said, the initial impression is that this murder could be for political reasons. It does not seem that there could be any personal motive here. We were on the ground since the beginning of the incident. All agencies worked together. We are giving utmost importance to this and looking at all possible aspects.
Earlier, the Home Ministry called an emergency press conference at 5:30 pm on Sunday to provide the latest information on the overall law and order situation in the country and the progress of Operation Devil Hunt Phase-II.

On December 12, miscreants shot Osman Hadi in the head on Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan, Dhaka. He was first treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later at Evercare Hospital. When his condition deteriorated, Osman Hadi was taken to Singapore by air ambulance on December 15 for better treatment. He died while undergoing treatment there on Thursday (December 18).
