Youth Tripara Federation has protested in front of the Bangladeshi Assistant High Commission in Tripura.

The Youth Tripara Federation (YTF), a youth wing of Tripara Motha, has protested in front of the Bangladeshi Assistant High Commission in Tripura over NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah's comments on the Seven Sisters and the incident of burning to death of a minority in Mymensingh.

On Friday (December 19), at around 11:30 am, a few hundred members of the organization gathered a short distance from the High Commission and started a procession, but they faced police resistance. To keep the situation calm, the police put up barricades 200 meters before the Bangladesh office. The leaders and activists started the protest there.

A large number of police personnel were deployed today to prevent the situation from getting out of control. Tripura West District SP Namit Pathak said, "We have deployed sufficient police." Not only the police, but also the Tripura Armed Forces and CRPF forces have been deployed to avoid any untoward situation. However, the members of the organization ended the program after a long peaceful protest. Later, the organization held a strong protest program by blocking the road in the Circuit House area of the city.

On this day, the protesters criticized Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Dr. Mohammad Yunus and shouted slogans and condemned the 'hostile statements' against India.

While addressing the rally, Youth Tripara Federation President Suraj Debbarma said that this protest is more a reflection of public sentiment than any political agenda. He alleged that Hasnat Abdullah threatened to target the Indian High Commission in his speech. Therefore, we want to send a message from in front of the office of the Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh. I want to remind them how Bangladesh was made.

Later, while talking to reporters, Debbarma said that the recent statements coming from across the border are deeply worrying. Referring to the repeated allegations made by Bangladeshi leaders about the occupation of India's northeast, he termed such remarks as irresponsible and dangerous.

He further said, "They have exaggerated by saying that they will occupy India's northeast. Despite India's contribution in the creation of Bangladesh, today they are treating us like enemies. There is no sea beach in the northeast. The nearest sea beach is Cox's Bazar. If they force us, we will change its name to 'Greater Tripuraland Sea Beach'. He also said that if the Indian government fails to assess the situation, the people will seek permission to protect their land.
