BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has issued a statement expressing deep concern over the fire at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. In the statement sent to the media on Saturday (October 18), he demanded a fair investigation into the incident and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
In the statement, Mirza Fakhrul said, "The fascists' friends have started various types of violent activities to challenge the dream of building a Bangladesh free of discrimination and to destabilize the country. All the people of the country must be vigilant and alert to deal with such misdeeds and anarchic situations. Because, domestic and international enemies are still always active to destabilize the country.
The BNP Secretary General said that the recent incidents of fire in the country and the incident of fire in the cargo section of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today are connected by the same source. The people believe that these fires were pre-planned. The country was freed from tyranny on August 5 last year through the sacrifice of thousands of martyrs and the excruciating pain of countless students and the masses. However, the partners of tyranny are still conspiring to destroy the success and potential of the mass uprising.
In the statement, the BNP Secretary General also said, I believe that if the forces on the side of Bangladesh are vigilant, Bangladesh cannot be thrown into the deep darkness of anarchy. The people cannot be made to forget the injustice and injustice of the last 16 years by conspiring or spreading misinformation. I call for immediate action to be taken to ensure proper firefighting equipment, and I demand a proper investigation into today's fire incident in the cargo section of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, and I demand exemplary punishment by bringing the real culprits to justice. I also wish the injured a speedy recovery.
