Suddenly, wildlife of the Sundarbans is being seen in the locality. But why? Sometimes deer, sometimes monkeys, and even the king of the forest, the tiger, are seen. When these animals roam the locality, the people of the concerned area are panicking. However, forest department officials have given a different statement on this. They say that they are running from the forest to the locality to escape from the tiger chase and some kind of insect attack.

.However, forest department officials have given a different statement on this. They say that they are running from the forest to the locality to escape from the tiger chase and some kind of insect attack. However, environmentalists say that the wildlife is mainly coming to the locality due to the shortage of habitat and lack of food for the animals.

On Sunday (September 12) morning, a tiger was seen roaming on the footpath (a wooden walkway) of the Harbaria tourist spot in the eastern Sundarbans. However, a major accident was avoided as there were no tourists on the footpath at that time. In this regard, Ramzan Ali Kanan, the officer-in-charge of the Harbaria Ecotourism Center, said that the forest guards first saw a tiger roaming on the footpath (a wooden walkway). Then they started shouting. At one point, the tiger got off the footpath and went deep into the forest.

He also said that tigers have been roaming freely in the Harbaria part of the forest for a long time. They are almost always seen on the banks of the Harbaria Dighi. But this time, the tiger climbing on the footpath created some fear. However, a major accident was avoided as there were no tourists at that time.

Earlier, two deer that had escaped from the forest in the Bouddhamari area of Mongla Upazila were rescued by the locals. Later, the forest guards, after receiving the information, brought the two deer to the Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Center in the forest. And the monkeys are seen in different areas of Mongla Upazila every two to three days.

Local journalist Amir Hossain Amu said that for the past few days, a monkey has been roaming around their signal tower area. He has received reports of several such monkeys roaming around different areas of Mongla upazila.

Hawladar Azad Kabir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Center in the Eastern Sundarbans, said, "On September 27, two deer left the forest and went to Bouddhamari village. There could be two reasons for this, the first is that they consider the deer's habitat a threat. For example, if suddenly chased by a tiger, they fall into the river or go to the locality while running. Another reason is that the deer cannot bear the torture of a type of insect attack called Katas Machi and Das Machi inside the forest and go to the locality.

In this regard, Mongla coordinator of 'Sundarban Rakshay Amara' Md. Nur Alam Sheikh said that wildlife is coming to the locality due to lack of food. This is happening due to deforestation, natural disasters (such as floods) and habitat destruction. As a result, conflicts between wildlife and people are increasing, which can be risky for wildlife.

He also said that in some cases, government support is insufficient. The government is not enough to meet the needs of wildlife. Therefore, the concerned authorities need to pay attention to these issues. Otherwise, there is a risk of loss of ecological balance if wildlife becomes extinct.
