The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has extended a royal welcome to Iranian President Masoud Pajhwok. A special PAF escort squadron welcomed his plane as it entered Pakistani airspace on Tuesday (June 24).

A formation comprising six JF-17 Thunder and F-16 fighter jets took part in the ceremony, Pakistani media outlet Geo News reported. Pajhwok flew to Pakistan directly after talks between the US and Iran in Switzerland.

This is Pajhwok's first foreign visit since the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif later greeted Pajhwok when the plane carrying the Iranian president landed on Pakistani soil.

The traditional air show organized by the Pakistan Air Force reflects the country's longstanding hospitality and respect for visiting heads of state. The participation of JF-17 Thunder and F-16 aircraft also demonstrates the modern operational capabilities and professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force.
