Policeman killed, 2 injured in blast at Peshawar police station

A massive blast took place at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station on University Road in Peshawar on Sunday (November 3). One police officer was killed and two others were injured.

Police officials said the blast was caused by an explosive device placed inside the station. A huge fire broke out immediately after the blast and quickly spread to the warehouse.

City Police Chief (CCPO) Mian Saeed said that a part of the station collapsed due to the impact of the blast. One officer was killed.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot after the blast and firefighters are working to control the fire. The injured officers have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said that smoke was rising above the station as rescue teams were clearing the debris.
