Four people, including a top commander of the armed group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were killed in an operation by the Pakistani army in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province. The country's military's media wing said in a statement on Thursday (October 30).
In a statement, the country's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that on the night of October 29 and 30, a group of 'terrorists' were killed in an operation in Bajaur district after receiving information about their movement while trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
All the deceased were associated with the TTP. As usual, the statement referred to the slain TTP members as Fitna al Hindustani, Pakistan's ISPR said. The statement said, “As a result of a precise and efficient operation, four terrorists including TTP leader and target Amjad alias Mazahim were sent to hell.”
The ISPR statement further said, “The slain TTP commander is Amjad, the head of the Rehbari Shura of the Indian proxy Fitna al-Kharij. He was listed as highly wanted by the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) and the government had set a bounty of Tk 50 lakh on his head. One of the reasons for this is that he was actively involved in conducting numerous terrorist activities inside Pakistan while in Afghanistan.”
Meanwhile, hours after the Bajaur operation, the ISPR said that it had killed 18 Indian-backed terrorists of Fitna al-Hindustan in two separate IBOs in Balochistan. The army’s media wing said that an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in the general area of Chiltan Mountains in Quetta district after receiving information about the presence of terrorists.
In a statement, the ISPR said that during the operation, its troops effectively attacked the terrorists' positions and after intense exchange of fire, 14 India-backed terrorists were routed. Besides, a terrorist hideout was destroyed and four terrorists were successfully neutralized in another IBO operating in the general area of Buledar in Kech district.
