8 injured in New York, including 4 children, on Independence Day

At least eight people, including four children, were injured in a shooting in New York City's Coney Island area on the night of the 250th Independence Day holiday in the United States. ABC News reported this news on Sunday (July 5), citing the New York City Police Department.

The New York Police Department said in a statement to ABC News that police immediately responded to the scene of the shooting at approximately 10:37 p.m. on Saturday night on West 31st Street in Brooklyn.

The media reported that the injured in the incident included two men, two women and four children aged 6, 7, 12 and 14. Police said that all the injured were rescued and transferred to the hospital. Among them, a 21-year-old woman is in critical condition, while the other seven are currently in stable condition.

ABC News reported that police recovered a firearm from the scene, but have not yet made any arrests in the incident.
