Italy to join US and Israel

Praising Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, US President Donald Trump said that Italy is ready to help the US and Israel in a war with Iran. The Guardian reported this information in a report on Sunday (March 8) quoting the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

In a telephone interview with the newspaper on Saturday, Trump called Meloni a “great leader”. He said, “Italy is doing everything it can to help the United States.”

Trump said of Meloni, “I love Italy. He is a great leader. He always tries to help. He is a wonderful leader and my friend.”

Earlier on Thursday, Meloni said that Italy is planning to send air defense equipment to help Gulf countries in the face of a possible Iranian air attack.

Meanwhile, an Italian navy spokesman said on Friday that an Italian ship was preparing to sail for Cyprus as part of a joint European mission to strengthen the security of the island after the Iranian attack.
