It is very natural for the body to become dehydrated due to not eating or drinking all day during fasting. That is why many fasting people suffer from dehydration during the month of Ramadan. However, if you are aware of some things, this problem can be easily avoided. Let's find out how to prevent dehydration during Ramadan—
Drink enough water
Make a habit of drinking at least 1-2 glasses of water in Sehri. Drink water little by little throughout the night, not just during Iftar. However, it is better not to drink too much water immediately after eating or in between meals, as this can cause digestive problems. Try to keep a gap of at least 20 minutes between eating and drinking water.
Choose water-rich foods
Include fruits and vegetables that are high in water, including cucumber, lettuce, and watermelon, in your diet. Soups and lentils are also beneficial to keep the body hydrated. You can eat healthy homemade sherbet or smoothies. Having coconut water during Iftar will not only replenish the body's water deficit but also provide the necessary nutrients.
It is better to drink less tea, coffee and soft drinks, because the caffeine in them increases the amount of urine and removes water from the body. In addition, excessively fried, processed and salty foods increase thirst, so try to eat less of them.
Drink lukewarm water
Although there is a desire for cold drinks during Iftar, lukewarm water is more beneficial for the body. It aids digestion and the body can absorb fluids more easily than cold water.
