Assistant arrested on rape charges, actress Srabanti opens up

The police have arrested Arghya, the assistant manager of popular Tollywood actress Srabanti Chatterjee, on charges of rape. He was arrested from the sixth floor of the Hara on Sunday (July 12). As soon as the news spread, criticism and excitement arose in Talipara and social media.

Many have wanted to know the actress's comment on the incident. The question is how she could do such a heinous act as an assistant to a star actress. However, she did not remain silent on the matter. According to media reports, Srabanti spoke about this in a post on Instagram.

The actress wrote, 'Since 2024, I have known Arghya, an event management company named Talentwala, which takes care of my events and daily schedule. But recently I came to know that this person is involved in a criminal act. The news has made me uncomfortable. I do not know about his personal life. And after this incident, I do not want to be associated with him in the future. I have informed the management company about this.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that a case has been registered against the arrested Arghya under non-bailable sections. He was produced in court today. The court has directed to keep him in jail custody for 14 days for the time being.

According to police sources, the victim also worked in the company where the arrested Arghya worked. On April 12, the woman went to Arghya's house for some work. Arghya raped her there. Later, on June 12, the victim lodged a written complaint against the accused at Chatterjeehat police station.

The police started an investigation after the victim's complaint. Later, the accused Arghya was arrested on Sunday (July 12). In the meantime, several non-bailable cases have been filed against him. He was produced in the Howrah court on Monday (July 13).
