Police recover body of Amitabh Bachchan’s co-star Priyanshu

The police have recovered the body of Priyanshu alias Babu Ravi Singh Chhetri, the actor of Amitabh Bachchan's film 'Jhund'. The Indian Express reports that the police said that it is initially believed that the murder was committed due to old enmity. The police have arrested a friend of the deceased, Dhruv Sahu, in this incident.

Police Inspector Arun Kshirsagar of Jaripatka police station said that no one has been formally arrested yet. However, the friend of the deceased, Dhruv Sahu, has been arrested. The two were last seen together on Tuesday (October 7) night. The motive behind the incident is being investigated.

According to police sources, the murder took place in an abandoned house in Nara area of ​​​​India in the early hours of Wednesday (October 8). Priyanshu's throat was cut with a sharp weapon and his face was disfigured with a stone. Local residents rescued him in his injured condition and took him to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.

Priyangshu played the role of Babu Chhetri in the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 'Jhund'.

It is reported that both Priyangshu and Dhruv Sahu were in an inebriated state. Later, a Crime Detection Branch team reached the spot and started an investigation and arrested Sahu within six hours. It is learned that Sahu has several previous cases. According to Nagpur Police, Priyangshu also had a record of minor crimes. He was arrested in 2022 in a case of theft of jewelry and cash. Recently, he had a financial dispute with Sahu, which was eventually resolved with the intervention of friends.

Incidentally, the film 'Jhund' (2022), directed by Nagaraj Manjule and starring Amitabh Bachchan, was based on the true story of a football team formed by youth from the slums of Nagpur. Priyanshu played the role of Babu Chhetri in that movie.
